Day 23 - Las Companas, Pecos National Historic Park, Santa Fe

My trusty Zero Image pinhole camera photographing Apollo's Commute. This view covers most of the sun's arc across the sky - the exposure will be a full 24 hours.

Pecos NHP is the only National Park we have ever found that is dog-friendly.

The amazingly beautiful visitor center at Pecos.

Today's mystery poo. Or barf.

I think those yellow things are human-replicating pods. I wasn't going to stick my hand in there to find out.

Inside one of the many kivas found on site.

Now the trick is to get out of here.

In a giant mound of prehistoric garbage, painted pottery shards are all over the place.

Could be an infestation of the little known day glow worm.

One of the many open kivas on the site. There are also two fully covered kivas that are accessible.

Remains of the Mission Church - looking towards what was once the entrance. The new entrance is pretty grand too - with an awesome view.

A side exit off the alter to a small room - where priests do whatever priests do.

We are in the remains of an ancient church - ancient burial grounds are all around - there's always tension when church state meets indigenous people - I will leave this one to your imagination.

Mission remnnants - still stand tall against the New Mexico blue.

Looks like the laser-level was malfunctioning.

It's the evening rush hour in Santa Fe, and the Thunder Chicken is engaged in it's daily game of, well, chicken.
